Who am I?

I am a dedicated performer and educator, holding a cum laude Master's degree in Opera and Music Performance from Conservatorium Maastricht with a special recognition from the examination board.

Prior to coming to the Netherlands, I studied at the prestigious Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin, Ireland, where I was one of only two vocal students to graduate with First Class Honours that year, awarded by the renowned Trinity College Dublin.

With years of experience performing across Europe and Asia, I am frequently invited to give concerts, masterclasses, and collaborative projects in the Netherlands, Germany, Italy and Malaysia.

Teaching is not just a passion for me, it’s a dedicated commitment to providing high-quality education. Over the course of my 17 years of teaching, I’ve had the privilege of helping students achieve their musical goals, including earning scholarships to renowned music institutions and achieving distinctions in piano and singing exams. One of my unique strengths is my ability to quickly identify the specific issues in both singing and piano playing and offer immediate, effective solutions. I have a highly trained ear and sharp analytical skills, allowing me to quickly diagnose vocal and technical issues in both singing and piano playing. This ability ensures that students receive the most effective, targeted guidance to improve their technique and artistry. Many teachers can point out when something goes wrong, but it’s the result of years of teaching, personal training, and observing professional masters that allows me to understand what went wrong and how to fix it, ensuring every student receives the precise guidance they need.

I am also certified in Vocal Health First Aid Level 2 by Vocal Health Education, meaning students' voices are in safe and knowledgeable hands. Unfortunately, many singers suffer from poor instruction, leading to vocal damage. My expertise ensures that students develop healthy, sustainable vocal techniques that support their long-term growth.

My ongoing performance career keeps me at the forefront of vocal and instrumental techniques, allowing me to bring current, real-world insights into my teaching. My lessons are not just about playing or singing correctly but about helping students unlock their full potential, build confidence, and, most importantly, experience a deep sense of joy and fulfillment after each lesson. I work tirelessly to ensure my students receive the best guidance, empowering them to grow both musically and personally.

Regardless of your goal in learning music, please let me know, and I will do my best to help!

How long have you been making music?
Since childhood, I've always loved singing and dancing in front of the television. My journey as a musician began in 2001 when I started training as a pianist. In 2007, I was awarded a full scholarship to pursue a Diploma in Music at SEGi College Subang Jaya, Malaysia, where I expanded my skills to include classical singing and violin.

What do you like most about teaching?
Witnessing my students enjoy learning music, especially when I see their improvement and achievements, brings me immense joy. I thrive on open communication with my students, finding ways to enhance their learning experience. I also love the creativity that the children have within them. I believe that a good music teacher could make children feel comfortable and happy coming to the lessons, and they could tell their stories to the teacher through the music they play, I love to be that teacher!

How do others describe you in three words?
Patient, compassionate, caring

Since when have you been teaching?
I've been teaching since 2008.
